By joining the beta you agree to the following:

1. Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age to agree to the following terms and conditions, by signing up you acknowledge that you meet this requirement.
2. Data Collection and Use: NeaterNotes uses artificial intelligence to improve the accuracy and performance of our app. These artificial intelligence models are trained and rely on data from handwritten notes. By participating in the beta and/or uploading images of your notes, you grant NeaterNotes the right to collect and store your scanned notes solely for the purpose of training and improving our artificial intelligence models to increase the accuracy of our optical character recognition and graph or diagram recognition technologies. The information given via forms on this website, i.e. name and email, will be used for the purpose of contacting and informing individuals who have opted-in about the beta and other news regarding NeaterNotes. Email addresses will be cross-referenced with sign-ups upon the full release of the app to ensure that all closed beta participants receive a full month of NeaterNotes Plus upon downloading the app and creating an account within it. Emails will also be cross-referenced for the purpose of providing those who uploaded notes samples to the website with a number of semesters in which they will receive NeaterNotes Plus for free, corresponding to the number of notes they uploaded before the start of the closed beta. 
3. Data Privacy: NeaterNotes is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring we do not infringe upon your data rights. We will take reasonable measures to ensure the security of your data, remove any personally identifiable information from the notes scanned, and will not share your data with third parties for the purpose of marketing or any additional unrelated purposes.
4. Intellectual Property Rights: You retain all ownership rights to any handwritten notes you have produced, by participating in the beta you grant NeaterNotes a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to utilize, reproduce, and modify copies of your notes solely for the purpose of further developing and improving the NeaterNotes mobile application. 
5. Beta Participation: Joining the waitlist for the NeaterNotes closed beta does not guarantee access to the closed beta. NeaterNotes’ intention is to include everyone who joined the waitlist in the beta. However, we reserve the right to remove participants at our sole discretion. Beta access may be limited and not all features or functionalities may be available during the beta testing period. 
6. Feedback and Suggestions: By participating in the beta, you will be given the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions to help improve NeaterNotes based directly on your user experience. You agree that any feedback or suggestions given will be non-confidential and that NeaterNotes reserves the right to freely use, disclose, and incorporate any feedback provided without obligation.
7. Changes to Terms & Conditions: We reserve the right to modify, change, or otherwise alter these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective when posted on our website and will be communicated to you via email. Continued participation will be considered agreement to the updated terms and conditions. 
8. Disclaimer of Warranties: NeaterNotes and its services are provided on an "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied.
